Every time I put nail polish on, I remember why I don’t usually wear it.
Thought Process: It will take 30 minutes to put on the nail polish and touch up the edges. I’ll wait an extra 15 minutes before really doing anything that might smudge or damage the smooth finish. By that time, I’m sure the polish will be hard.
Actuality: It takes 30 minutes to put on the nail polish and touch up the edges. I wait an extra 15 minutes to get the polish to harden. I realize that it’s not hard. I wait another 15 minutes, trying to come up with ways to spend my time that don’t really involve my hands. The polish still isn’t set. I bump one fingernail into something and royally smudge the polish. I try to smooth it out with my fingers, but it’s a lost cause. I make up my mind to re-paint that one later. I go about my day, trying to be careful of the fresh nail polish. Three and a half hours later, the polish still isn’t dry. By this point, I have accidentally messed up the polish on 5 of my 10 fingernails, so I decide to give up and whip out the nasty-smelling nail polish remover. The next few days I’m stuck with remnants of the nail polish along the edge of my cuticles.
Ugh.
Does anyone know of some truly fast-drying nail polish?
