The thing about Dr. Cox, his jokes always take way too long to tell. This joke, for instance, gets its point across after four notes. But he doesn’t lose intensity as the rest of the song plays out, and he takes his time as the clock strikes three. There’s something awe-inspiring about the conviction he puts into these comic runs. It’s like *after* they’re funny, they have time to be impressive.
