Today I went to a concert and heard a youth choir sing “Somewhere In My Memory.” As soon as it started, I knew it was from a movie. In my head, I narrowed it down to two possibilities, and one of them was correct. I’ve found a Youtube video of a talented kid playing and singing the song. Can you place the movie that this is from? My two guesses (and confirmation of the correct answer) are in the comments section.
It is from the movie “Home Alone.” My other guess was “Hook.”
About halfway through the performance this morning, it occurred to me that it also sounded kind of like “While You Were Sleeping.”
Funny that I knew it was
1) a Christmas movie
2) from the 1990s.

I guessed Home Alone, too. This is the first answer I’ve guessed correctly–woohoo!
I agree that it reminds me of While You Were Sleeping. A familiar rift in the melody perhaps?

Oh definitely Home Alone! Glad to know I was right.
What is also impressive is that the kid is singing while playing (and playing while quasi-standing).
