Oh, Frankincense.

I love the movie Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.  It’s in my top five movies of all time, and I would love to be in it someday.  Surely we could have a Zion Church drama club of some sort put this on?

Anyway, I love the whole movie, but my favorite 15 seconds are in the barn dance when Frank and Millie dance.  It’s just perfect.  The choreography, the execution, the instrumental music (the violin part is so fun!), etc.  I love it.  It’s the last 15 seconds of the following clip.

  1. Yes, I love that movie, and that is the best scene! A friend of mine and I were just having a conversation the other day about which guy and girl were our favorites, and how we’d argue with our siblings over getting to pick them. (I was generally partial to Frank and Dorcas.)

  2. I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve never seen this musical. Do you own it, Anne? And could Liv watch it with me?

  3. B – Gideon, baby. Kate and I always say “I’ll drive,” really smugly to each other. Alice was never my favorite though.

R – I started watching this movie at least by Liv’s age. I know it’s *appropriate* for her, but I don’t know if she’d maintain interest during the whole thing. The songs, dances, and brawling are very entertaining, but there are a couple of long stretches where there’s a lot of talking. YOU need to see this, though. :)

  4. Oh, and I think I have this, but it might be Kate’s. I’ll check and let you know. If I have it, you’re totally welcome to borrow it.

  5. This movie is made of magical awesomesauce.
